Mis-Identifying Wildflowers
A leap into the abyss of self-indulgence.
Book-Store Blues (Minus the blues)
As many of you readers know, I started my job at Border’s yesterday. The first thing my trainer (Olivia) said to us (there was another girl training with me) was, “You guys know we get free coffee and tea, right?” We explained we knew. She got up, her voice rising a pitch or so, and said “Alright, well let’s go get some free tea and coffee!”
It’s during this time that the anxiety of starting a new job completely left my system. Starting this job scared me for one reason: I knew no one. See, when you apply and work at a place where you have hung out for a year, there’s almost no anxiety in entering the job. Here, I didn’t have that advantage.
So, after all was said and done, I started cashing people out. Here’s where I fell in love with my job.
Besides the fact that I work with awesome people, I get to see what books are out there that I don’t notice. I get to see a person and see what they read. Very cool.
I work again Thursday, 5 to close. Stop by. I would love to see you.
